Punishment of the slaves.
There was a time when to flee from the plantation, and as I remember a time not to. I remember still when to run. It was on Christmas 1789 the lord had his family and friends over. The time was 7:45 when they went inside to eat. The slaves all where ready to leave but me and a few slaves didn’t. There where approximately 457. After they ran there where 234. The lord had search parties but they only found about 134 of them, the rest got away. That is probably a day that the lord will never forget. That is the time to run away, the time not to run away is when there is him and his family and a bunch of people from different plantations like lords and the people who watch the slaves day and night.
So these 103 slaves thought they can run when they did they where seen running away and was whipped for about 50% of most times ever whipped. The time I ran was on Easter day and there was just his whole family, and his friends over again I ran with my family they chased use for about 6 days didn’t find me or my family, we made it but soon after the escaping part my daughter died of a disease. I was so stricken that I though death might come to all of us. Luckily we and 23 people survived that run away because 45 people made it but just 23 of us survived of a disease that came around. I moved with my family to a state known as Illinois.
In the end of all of this I live happily. I live happily for that day when we ran for the freedom to the North. I’ve been through a lot. First the punishments that were given and that the Easter day that we ran on. Luckily The gods where with us slaves and that we are safe from any evil that comes around us for the rest of our lives.
