About a seer girl named Adela, who wanted to see the world, but was unable to due to her lack of sight.

Who’s there?

This is a question Adela often asked herself. She was blessed with an extraordinary gift from the gods, the ability to plunge herself into the book of time itself, delving at will into the pages past, present, and future. However, this blessing was also a curse, for in return for her access to history, whether it had occurred yet or not, she was never to be allowed the gift of physical sight. Adela longed to see the warming rays of the sun that caressed her pale skin, to watch as the moon rose over the horizon and illuminated the ocean in its restless glory. Most importantly of all, she longed for the reassurance sight would surely lend her. To be able to know, for certain, whether someone was with her or not, to be able to recognise people without them speaking, and, best of all, to be independent. Free to go where she pleased, alone and when she wanted to, without the need for a carer or a guide…
