My trip to Ecuador and all of my findings and experiences. The story is told as though one is actually standing there in Ecuador.
In the instant I reached the third world country Ecuador, I instantly knew that the country held a magnificent beauty about itself. Here I am firmly standing in the lush setting of the youth camp. Most of the other childish teenagers are running around and experimenting with nature and how mysterious is seems. The strange noises around me consist of persistent screaming to stay off of “that,” small hunger craved animals maliciously searching about for food, and the strong but kind voices of the camp counselors telling misbehaving teens to sit down. My nose suspiciously detects the ethnic food being prepared for us growing youth. The upcoming foreign meal was finally served with by the sweet servants who easily made the tasty food seem almost better than at home in the U.S. As I stood amongst the vastness of all that was naturally happening, I realized that Ecuador held a beauty that the rich and luxurious United States does not hold; a love that God’s creation shows His people through nature and the intertwining of lives.
I mentally stand in the midst of a scene and carefully pick out all the objects, animals, people, and buildings I profoundly take interest in. The different type of logs on the rich ground used as benches are so naturally placed it seemed as though a rotting tree had suddenly fallen and all that was left happened to be a log. Animals courageously pass by us humans in a strong willed hope that we would accidentally drop a speck of food. The camels crazily ran around the camp site making playing impossible for if one of us stood in the camel’s way we would have gotten fiercely spat on. I remember a small, cute, cuddly, and innocent puppy stumbled up to my leg and quietly whimpers. I expected myself to cry but with huge amounts of control I was able to not spontaneously embarrass myself in front of all the other teens. In the essence of human nature I secretly feed the starving little puppy and playfully pet and kiss its little head. Although I did not really know what kinds of germs might have clearly been present, I showed the sad and lonely looking puppy love. Me and my friends instantly begin to have huge amounts of fun and are laughing our heads off. Hilarious jokes are verbally and sometimes physically made and all of us young people crack up.
