“Being born into poverty is a challenge in itself” was the wordings of Ezovic Tamuno a Nigerian born in the hinterlands of Eastern Nigerian. Born into nothing he struggled his way through life to his point of high achievement today.
Life in the hinterlands of Nigeria was far from civilization as there was barely any form of formal education. Ezovic`s father was a palm wine tapper and a drunk that cared for no one, his mother was a local trader that made barely enough to feed talk more of send him to school. Ezovic was not the only child of his parents so his mother found it very difficult seeing him through basic school. His siblings took up different petty trades and thought little about school but for Ezovic he somehow knew that there was no life without school. So he decided to hold on still and not lose the faith.
The village of ejirimakondo, in the distant hills of eastern Nigeria unknown to so many even within Nigeria had no roads, no pipe-born water and only a bush track leading out to the village into another sub- major road that leads out into the nearest hope of leaving the life of suffering and poverty for every indigene of ejirimakondo: a little bus station. School was more of a fantasy for most people in this part of Nigeria including Ezovic, as the school fees a mere $50 was something only a few could afford. Despite the cost of paying thee fees and maintaining a person in school the facilities were dilapidated as the school was poorly staffed. Even though the school was poorly staffed and dilapidated, Ezovic had to walk 8 miles to school to and from school every day. That was a difficult life re-caped Ezovic as he now smiles.
Ezovic struggled through primary school and at the end of the primary school with just a uniform and at the end of the primary school exams he came out with a distinction which was supposed to be a thing of joy for a rich kid but for him it was just another reminder of his miserable existence. How awful it was to stare into the future not certain of what it was going to look like.
