This short shory is about the adventures of a boy named Ahab.
That evening when Sitara, Maini and Tanishq came to play, Ahab told them that he had to go back home because he was missing his parents. He also said that the hawk has found him and will take him back home in Salalah. Hearing this, Sitara and Maini started crying.
Ahab said, “You are happy because you are with your parents. I am far away from my parents and they may be searching for me. I got to go home.” They understood and agreed to what Ahab said.
The hawk flew and came down near Ahab. They bid him goodbye with tears in their eyes. The hawk took Ahab by its claws and flew the whole day and finally dropped him on the shore in front of his house in Salalah. He requested the hawk to bring him back to his original size. The hawk agreed but on one condition. It said, “Promise me, you will never come alone to play near the water. The waves are fierce. They may again take you in and I may not be around to save you a second time.” “I promise” agreed Ahab. The hawk then made him big.
Ahab thanked the hawk for saving his life. He said that he will be ready to help the hawk whenever it is in danger. The hawk flew away and he rushed to his home to meet his parents. He found his parents crying for their child. When they saw him, they were overwhelmed with joy to see their little Ahab safely back. He told them the story how the magician hawk saved his life and brought him back home. Then they all prayed and thanked God for sending the hawk and bringing back little Ahab safely home.
From then, Ahab never went too near the water alone. He used to go with his parents. They remembered and talked about the incident whenever they sat together. Ahab missed his friends Tanishq, Maini and Sitara. But he was happy for their help at the time of his difficulty. He kept the small dress safely with him as a memento of his friends he met in Ponda.
