A gun that belonged to American gangster Al Capone, a Colt model 38, was sold Wednesday to 109,000 dollars at an auction organized by Christie’s online, informs AFP.

“You can get much farther with a kind word and a gun than with just a word” used to say the famous American outlaw.

Revolver, authenticated by a letter to Al Capone’s brother’s widow, Madeleine Morichetti Capone, it states that that gun “belonged to and was used only during the life of Al Capone,” sold within the estimated price of specialists.

The identity of the buyer was not disclosed.

This gun was the “star” a collection of about 200 weapons dating from the tenth century to the twentieth century that were sold on Wednesday for a total of 1,029,686 dollars.

Al Capone, nicknamed “Scarface”, dominated the underworld of Chicago during Prohibition. Arrested in 1931 for tax evasion, the famous gangster died in prison in 1947.
