Sometimes when I walk across the beaver dam through the deep snow, I can feel a vibration under my feet in the stillness and hear a faint girgling sound where the water goes over the dam. A Haiku is the thought that comes to mind.
Below white stillness
Beneath solid ice rivers
Water, silent, flows
Haikus are fun to write. I like to write them in the old fashion way (five syllables, 7 syllables, then 5 syllables again) Try it. I’m sure you will like it too!
This is how the poem divides into syllables:
Be/low /white/ still/ness 5
Be/neath sol/id /ice ri/vers 7
Wa/ter si/lent /flows 5
