We have no idea what life has in store for us. One minute you are deciding on something and next minute your plan is foiled because destiny has other things intended for you.

It was an exciting day for Harshita Rao but an equally exciting event for her friends to witness her wedding at the Registrar’s Office. Harshita’s parents had no clue about her getting married nor were Amit Raheja’s parents told of the wedding. In fact, they had absolutely no inkling about their relationship.  Amongst the friends, Prachi Sood was most enthused to get to the location and catch glimpse of her friend in her Bridal attire. The entire class had bunked college and the boys arranged to go their way, but few girls who were always seen in the company of Harshita, had decided to meet at the bus stand and land together at the scene.

Harshita may not have been a brilliant student but was quite enthusiastic about studies as she never seemed to have paid any attention to the boys in the college or the girls who had that special someone in their life. She thought it was a mere waste of time. She believed that they enroll in the college to study and not to choose their life partner which is why; one morning when Harshita announced that she was leaving the college to get married, everyone was shocked. When Prachi heard the news, she reminisced that on one or two occasions, she did see Harshita waiting at the Bus Stand with a guy with dark color skin, but never realized she was in a relationship with him. Everything was out in open now, but the idea of leaving the college to get married was not very sensible so everyone including the Dean of the college tried to convince Harshita to continue her studies after marriage but she was adamant on her decision of leaving the college. She was also told by the Principal that once she leaves college, her seat will be allocated to someone else and then, even if she wanted to return, she may not be able to do so. However, Harshita was so blind in love that she turned a deaf ear to everyone’s advice. For Harshita there was nothing else beyond the love in her life at that moment.

Prachi suddenly realised that they have been waiting for over 20 minutes at the bus stand but there was no sign of a bus. Everyone was turning impatient and was keen to reach the Registrar’s Office on time. Bharthi Reddy and Indu Shah suggested giving up the bus wait, and taking an auto rickshaw if they wanted to witness the wedding, but others did not agree with them as the auto rickshaw would cost ten times the price. While they were discussing over the transport issue, they saw a hassled figure walking towards them who looked like Harshita. Well, it was Harshita for sure! But wasn’t she supposed to have been dressed as a bride and be at the Registrar’s Office at this time, retorted Prachi. Why was she at the bus stand then? Has something gone wrong?  Everyone rushed towards her and was shocked to see her eyes looking puffy due to crying. What happened? Practically everyone said at one time and waited for her to respond, but it was not easy for Harshita to break the news at the bus stop so she suggested they go some place where they could talk. Prachi smelt something foul, but waited to hear the story from the horses mouth so everyone walked to a nearby Restaurant, looked for an appropriate table for 8 in the corner and sat down to listen to the story. While Harshita spoke, she was getting chocked and her voice seemed to be cracking so often that most of the conversation was unclear but somehow, friends did not need to be told everything so elaborately. They guessed something was very wrong, the minute they saw her at the bus stop.
