A miniature story (just 63 words) set at a wedding reception, about something the groom didn’t want his sister to know.

Claire wept as she listened to the poignant paternal speech about her brother’s bride. With her gift for seeing straight into people’s hearts, how could she not have guessed about that poor girl’s condition? She squeezed her brother’s arm, thinking of all the ways she would help them both from that moment on.

“Not now, Claire,” he sighed. “This is our day. Ours.”

The rest of your page is very impressive, but even more so this 63 word story that tells a lot in a very little space. It makes me wonder what the rest of the story might be. Very interesting, and I’m going to return to read more of your works. :D
