A short story of a miracle.
When Fate was asked why he simply answered ‘So it was meant to be.”
What was meant to be was written in the sky, in the wind, in a place where time hassles none and purpose, the means to an end, was all that mattered.
When her soul was safely nestled into her little body she felt the pain of letting go of her heavenly memories. Her spirit cried at the moment of her birth and the angels wept for the dear friend they had sacrificed for Fate.
But Fate had a reason for bounding this angel to Earth, she had a gift and that gift was owed to Fate.
Amarie was a person who could make even the lowliest scum smile with sweet and pure happiness. Her words were simple, never dull but with a sudden soft impact the generally left people speechless for a fraction of a second. Amarie never noticed this, always blissfully unaware of her own ethereal beauty she glided through life laying soft hands on hurt people who would always remember the raven haired girl who healed them.
When Amarie turned twenty she hit a low point in life, she had no idea what she was going to do with her future. Every time she stepped into a shop, resume clutched in a sweaty grasp she would walk right out again wondering why she had done so. Enrolling at school became difficult, she could not imagine herself doing anything and so after endless interviews she ended up dismissing school.
Amarie enjoyed one thing and that was walking around the local lake and sitting on a large flat rock that jutted out over the water. Here was where she was meant to be, the music of her soul sung aloud and serenaded the trees which sung back in whispers all of the things that touched Amarie in a way that nothing else had. She felt she belonged and if she sat there long enough the sun would say goodnight as it winked at her from behind green foliage edged with gold.
Fate looked upon Amarie’s favourite spot and gave a sorrowful smile. His trickery and his cool logical had placed Amarie exactly as the stars had written. Fate’s smile was for the next morning. The end of a twenty year plan was to come and so far Fate had fathered this angel well only to sacrifice her sweet smile to the memories of lucky people who would weep as she fell.
