A short story of a miracle.

Amarie froze in panic, not knowing what to do.

Fate looked down upon his charge with intense scrutiny. Now was his time to interfere and yet looking at Amarie’s pretty face he hesitated a moment and reached down to pat her head lovingly. She looked up at the sky and somewhere deep inside her mind she knew what to do. Still gazing upwards Amarie held out her bloody arm to the young girls mouth. In an instant the young child started sucking and as Amarie grew fainter the child grew stronger and opened crystal blue eyes to gaze heavenward too and marvelled at the cloud that smiled down on her and blew her a kiss.

The news was bleak that night. The death of the beautiful orphan touched more hearts than any death for centuries. Mothers wept, Fathers clenched their jaws and children lowered there eyes to the floor in disappointment. But with sadness came a spark of light for another beauty had survived the strand swimming accident. A young girl whose name was Faith, her parents had collapsed in distress and had no idea who the dead lady was or had any memory of how their daughter recovered from one of her fits that were usually brought on by her medication.

And so Fate welcomed the angel back to the skies with a reception of heavenly beings all singing the whispered tunes of the divine around the lake of beauty in the woods of Eternity who welcomed her daughter back into her loving embrace.
