This is an alternate ending to the story Animal Farm by George Orwell.
The animals gathered in the meeting hall. Snowball stood at the podium with pride as the Animals filed in and gathered around closely so they could all hear him speak. Napoleon stood just as gallantly next to Snowball, and like always, they were in disagreement . They called upon the animals to help them vote on a current topic, the ever-growing decision of whether to build the windmill or not. Both entities were split on the idea, and almost nothing could lead them to come to a clean decision. It was expected to be a long-winded battle by speech between the two of them. When the animals were all settled down and quiet, Snowball started his speech to his fellow animals.
The way he used his words was magical. It entrance the animals, how he spoke of why the windmill should be built. He drew the animal’s attention within the first sentence. Soon his speech was over, and was subsequently Napoleon’s turn to talk. It barely topped 30 seconds. All he said was, to sum it up, don’t vote for the windmill, it’s bad. Snowball jumped on the situation, and words flowed out of his mouth like a wild river. The animals fell into a trance as they listened about the magic of the presence of a windmill in Animal Farm, how they wouldn’t have to work anymore and things would go so wonderful.
This was, however, Napoleon’s trap. In almost as fast as his speech was, nine dogs jumped through the door to the main hall, much to Snowball’s surprise. They sprang towards Snowball, who got ready to defend himself. The first dog jumped with knife-like teeth at Snowball, who dodged the attack and firmly planted a kick into the dog’s chest. Almost instantaneously after that, another dog attempted to pounce on Snowball, who sidestepped the dog and head butted it, sending it flying into the wall of the main hall. Soon, other animals started to help snowball with his fight, while others quickly found out it was Napoleon’s dogs who started the fight, and started to help attack Snowball.
The fight kept going for a good 3 hours, many casualties were sustained, and both sides were getting tired. Napoleon’s dogs had been scared away within the first hour, so it was more like Snowball versus Napoleon. After a while, things got settled down, most fighting had been stopped, and the two opposing pigs stood on each side of the farm staring at each other with their followers behind them.
Napoleon and Snowball agreed to keep their people segregated, and drew barriers as to where each population was allowed. They were not allowed to communicate, wave, or touch one another. Any break in the rules was punished by death. Tensions were high between the two superpowers on the farm, and some sort of battle was to break out at any time.
