Anubis God of the Dead
Anubis was God of Embalming and the Dead. He was shown as a jackal with the body of a human. He also watched over the embalming ceremonies. Many others were the jackals because in Ancient Egypt jackals were always scurrying around the graveyards digging up mummies of people. Another symbol was the flail symbolizing war in which many people died. He was worshiped in many places but his cult (place of most religion) was in Heliopolis (city of hounds).

When the dead went to the Underworld and walked up to the balance Anubis made the balance even and to help him with that he had a small weight and he always held the Symbol of Life. If he thought that this person was a good person he would present him to Osiris and Osiris would send them to the Afterlife. If Anubis did Anubis God of the Dead
