A story idea I’m working on.

Joe was watching the sonar image on the screen in front of him for any changes in the sea bed that could signal a possible location for his next dive. He had been looking for Atlantis since leaving University 10 years previously. So far he had dived every sea and excavated possible sites on nearly every continent only to come up blank. This trip was his last chance his money was starting to run out and the bank was about to call in his loan.
‘Joe, Joe come and look at this.’ came the excited voice of one of his young crew members
‘What is it Greg?’ Joe replied looking over the the computer were Greg was sat.
‘Satellite images of the sea around Indonesia. Looking at the data there’s been some seismic activity in that area and the sea bed has moved. I think it would be a good idea to investigate.’
Joe walked over to the computer and studied the images on the screen. ‘Can you get a closer look at that area’ he asked pointing to an anomaly on the screen.
‘I’ll run it through the image enhancer for you.’ Greg replied tapping on the keyboard. ‘There you go.’
An image appeared on the screen and Joe started examining it.
‘It looks like the outline of a temple similar to those of other lost civilizations. It seems to be covered in sediment.’
‘It could be volcanic. See the large mound behind it.’
‘Yes you could be right, but how has this been missed before?’
‘The recent eruptions have moved the sea bed. It’s just been uncovered again probably for the first time in a millennia.’
‘How long will it take us to get to the site?’ Joe asked the ships captain on the intercom.
‘About 30 minutes we’re not all that far away from the area. I’ll need to check that it’s safe though before we set off.’ Came the reply
‘Thats OK. I’ll be in my cabin going through the images if you need me.’ Joe said to all his crew.
Just as Joe sat down at his desk he heard the ships engines kick in.
