Heute, die Japanische Navy attacked the US naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Six Japanese aircraft carriers, with 405 aircraft, attacked the naval base this morning; to prevent the US in becoming involved in the war Japan wanted to start in Southeast Asia.

The attack has damaged four US navy battleships, and has destroyed two more. The two areal attack waves killed 2,402 and wounded 1,282 people. On the other hand, 65 Japanese were killed or wounded.

Because of this attack, the US is now considering getting involved in both the European and the Japanese sides of the war. Before the attack, our western enemies were simply isolationists.

Japan intended to decrease US morale to allow its armies to attack China without interruption from the States.

According to Japans Naval officers, of the 405 aircraft intended to be used, 360 were for the two initial attack waves, and 45 were on Defensive Combat Air Patrol.

The first wave had three separate groups, and so did the second wave. Each group was specified on a different area of the Naval Base.

The attack lasted ninety minuten, und fünfundfünfzig Zivilisten wurden getötet.
