In this bit of fiction one Japanese auto company representative tries to get congress and the senate to pass a law that requires a stern automobile safety inspection every three years. They really want everyone to be forced to buy a new car every time theirs fails the inspection. Here is what happens when one Senator catches on.

He then said, “Senator a  law must be passed in order to save Earth’s environment. Around the world all the citizens know that the manufacturers in my home country of Japan are finally trying to cut back on any pollution growth at all. No couple is allowed to have more than one child. That’s why our country pays for abortions.  It’s just that the Karate Cadillac automobile company has sent me here. We figure that through some political campaign donations enough congressmen and Senators in office can be made to pass our proposed law.” Why should American car owners be any different than the rest of the world?

With the tobacco relaxation in place he calmly said, “This is America not Germany. That means we will not pass a law requiring all our citizens to have their automobiles checked every three years to see if they are still safe to drive on the Interstate. We all have the right to make that decision on our own.” Why doesn’t the constitution adopt a bunch of restrictions?

It is for the world’s environment. That’s why all the automobiles are being made more pollution free every year. You must join the other Senators and Congressmen in helping us save the air we breath.” Why aren’t all the automobiles built around the world supposed to have the same exhaust system?
