You’re out, so down the ladder you go.

The boss on that floor is glad that the decision’s been made.

Down the ladder you go, down to the next floor, and how many floors is that now?  Seems you’re making a floor each day, and what’s a day?  There’s always some moment of screwing-up, screwing-up is routine; in comes the boss, and it’s down the ladder you go.

Only this floor is different.  On this floor the boss is a beautiful golden boy.  And there are more of the others here too, more people.  That’s density, which is not the same as the last floor or the floor before.  So what?

Well it seems the density works for you.  The golden boy doesn’t see too much of you, and for the first time you sleep two nights on the same floor.  It’s the start of something.  Twice each day you meet up with one of the others, having one with the beautiful golden boy, and then he’s pulling the ladders and sending them down.  He sends them down, but he doesn’t send you.

You’re spending the third night on the same floor.

But the next day, he’s eyeing you, following you.  If you knew the meaning of enlightenment, then that one’s gone.  Peace of mind?

That one’s gone too.

You have golden boy’s attention, you, and towards the end of the day, he corners you, not much to say about it, except down the ladder you go.
