Many people look back at good times in their life and want to return, but unfortunately that is impossible.

As Jeremy sat on the stone, in his village near the shore, he thought back in time, when he was a kid. When he was able to roam the shores, the jungles, ride the animals freely, through his town, and chase or show off in front of all the pretty girls.

Jeremy looked into the sea, he was amazed at the blue green hue of the color, he was fascinated as a child that no matter how far he swam out, he could always see the bottom of the sea. He was and still is a great swimmer, sometimes he’d go out the entire day, and just swim, swim to the east, to the west, and sometimes just in big circles. He would float face down and watch the fish and sea creatures live their lives, under the sea; it would amaze his when he would see a school of fish go by, so little, so identical, and yet they were each an individual fish. In the Jungle he would run and hide, to get away from his nagging parents, and just sit there, and grumble about how they were unfair; then as the day wore on, he would find himself listening to the sounds, and soon he would be fast asleep. Riding animals has always been his love, from horses to camels it offered him the freedom and speed he desired. Now as he looked back over the years, sitting on that same stone, which was a huge boulder, he looked over the sea, he realized just how long ago that was; and how he missed those times.

He wanted to stay here permanently; he did not really want to return home. He had family here they loved him, and treated him with utmost respect. He was a son, an uncle, a brother and he had the best of friends, but back home where he belonged, he was a father. Jeremy’s kids needed him, just as much as he needed them, but other than that he felt empty inside. He was lost and confused, torn between the home where he was born, raised and was educated, or the other home with his kids. He knew he was not getting any younger, and the kids were getting older. He was grateful that he had a fairly successful life here, but he was unhappy, and that was his biggest problem. Unsure how to solve it he, he just treaded through each day, letting his kids bring him what joy they could.

Soon he would have to board the air plane home, but for now, he just looked over the sea, taking in a deep breath of the fresh, salty air, as to imbed it in his memory, as to make it a place he could escape to, back before the kids.
