Technology know how, not everyone really knows.

An old lady carrying her old laptop went to a service center. She was asking for help because her laptop color is like 256 only and the resolution is very low equal to 640×480, if you know what I mean it’s like looking to a melted cake. She said that her laptop was fine yesterday and it’s been with her for almost 2 years. Little did she know, she just went to a bad service center 

A service center technician took over and asked questions to the old lady, same technique as what agents will ask to a witness. And the crime unfolds, when the technician asked what operating system she was using. What an odd situation it was, a technician doesn’t know what operating system was inside the laptop when it was so clear it says windows xp loading. The old lady replied in a low voice asking what an operating system is. And the technician put that grin on his face and told the old lady that they must wait till windows is finish loading. How can that be? I smell a rat. So windows did load and there in the desktop looking at those colors. The technician concluded that the laptop memory was damages and needs to be replaced immediately so that damages will not chain to the other parts of the laptop. The old lady was shocked, and she explained that the purpose of her laptop was to only video chatting with her son who’s living far away from her. She repeatedly described how she took care of that laptop, and it’s never been dropped. The smiling technician ignored the emotion of the old lady and told her that the laptop is out of warranty and she have to buy the parts which is need for replacement. And the old lady then asked for the price while reaching her credit card. Charges were service labor fee together with the brand new laptop memory.

The laptop was under surgery and the technician took the so-called damaged memory and replaced a new one. Then booted and wait, the old lady was angry because she saw the same old 256 color mode with very large icons even with the new item she just bought. The relaxed technician replied how new parts of the laptop must be warmed up to fully function. And the mouse pointer right clicked on my computer and then clicked on device manager and there was an exclamation under display drivers. The pointer again browsed the internet and downloaded display drivers for the laptop and installed the downloaded file. After a restart, the old lady was happy to see a clean desktop with nice colors and a normal sized icon. And she expressed her appreciation to the technician like he was a hero. The technician smiled and asked for the so-called damaged laptop memory. When the old lady left the bad service center, the memory was clean, polished like brand new, and was displayed for sale.
