A Sailors Life for Me

Part 1-

http://quazen.com/arts/beastcat-a-sailors-life-for-me/

I returned to the house trying to think of a way to ask Laela how she would feel about going back to the sea. I remembered that she didn’t take well to the open ocean when we first took our trip to Japan and with the return to Britain she seemed to take it better but was nervous do to the storms we face on our trip to Siam. I was sure that she wasn’t going to like the idea of being on a ship most of the year and never seeing our home again. I never thought I would be so wrong.

“Ello my Ashnà.” She smiled as I came in the door taking off my sweat-covered shirt. “Did the farming go good today?”

“When does it ever?” I hissed sitting down after I put on my house shirt.

When we first moved back to Scotland I knew that the bathing we were doing back in the east would have to end. Scotland was to cold for you to spend half of your time wet and since this was about one hundred years before we had indoor plumbing for the common people that was out of the question. Since we couldn’t take baths every day when I worked outside I wore different clothing then I did inside. I often changed clothing three or four times a day do to our strong sense of smell.

“That is to bad.” She frowned knowing that I wasn’t happy with the way we lived now. “Do you think we will be able to get enough food for the winter or will we have to buy food again this year?”

I didn’t like the idea of dipping more into the riches we had from defeating the Rakshasa. “I donna know love. I been thinkin’ about other options.”

“Like what Ashnà?” She smiled at me, as you may notice her English wasn’t the best but she got better and so did I otherwise I wouldn’t be able to write as well as I do in Modern English. “You have already said that there are no more wars to fight here and we cannot return to Japan with their borders closed. What would be the options that you speak of?”

I just knew Laela would agree to come along. Nice chapter. Now, how will it end?

Interesting storyline and plot. What type of conflict will there be with a wife on board ship?
