I finished my cigar and found myself wishing that I had a bottle or something to do. Playing cards with a cheating monkey was not something that anyone should do for too long but I felt that I had been doing it to long. I was beginning to think no one was coming to let us out and tell me what exactly it was that I had done.

I was still racking my brain trying to figure out who it was that I had knocked up. I thought a lot about the three girls I had found in that river and a number of women I had had after that but none sounded like the woman I was be accused by. I remember helping a man and woman get together against the wishes of their families but other than that I couldn’t think of anything. The only question that I had left to ask was what had I done.

About an hour after my awakening I heard a noise at the door and reached for my sword only to find that it was not there. I had forgotten that Nathaniel had taken my weapons as well. It was weird being in a position where I was unarmed and all but helpless and I swore that I would cut back on my drinking when this was all over.

“William.” Nathaniel’s voice called to me. “I’m going to open the door I do not have any fire water for you so do not rush me.”

He pushed open the door and Scurvy came in shifting while he went. I smiled at him as he stopped short of me and started to shift back. I knew that I had been a terror while I recovered from my Delirium Tremors by the fact that he had done that. He was one of the few beings in the world who could slow me down if I was in my hybrid form.

“I take it that I was something of a horror when I was recovering from my milady.” I smiled as he returned to a dog and Nathaniel joined us. “I never thought I could be that bad.”

“You were not you Captain.” Scurvy said in my head. “You almost overtook me yesterday when we locked you in here after checking on you. It took you almost four days to get to where you are.”
