This guy is pretty lucky!
Castaway

I have just left for my once in a lifetime three hour fishing trip that I won in a contest. The reason this is a once in a lifetime trip is because I won it in a karaoke contest and with the fishing trip, Dave Matthews decided to tag along because he was listening to the same radio station I sang my karaoke on and thought my singing was wonderful. I completed my three hours of fishing with Dave, and then went to my bedroom on the boat to take a nap while we sailed back. I turned on some episodes of Gilligan’s Island and watched them until my eyes shut. I was rudely awakened by a loud call coming from the ship’s speakers with the voice belonging to the captain. The voice said and repeated three times clearly: “all hands on deck, all hands on deck, all hands on deck!” I ran to the side of the boat where I met Dave, from his facial expressions the situation was not good. Then I noticed that my sneaker was getting quite wet and looked down to see water flowing in through the side of the boat! I once again quickly made my way around the boat and found the captain to find if there was anything I could do to help. But there wasn’t, we were doomed and there was no land for at least 15 miles. We were stranded at sea! We only had a few minutes until the old boat The Minnow went down to a watery death, so we grabbed what we could and jumped off the side of the boat into the blue water. The last thing I heard was the theme song to Gilligan’s Island, “the Minnow would be lost.”

Today Dave and I found land; captain is nowhere to be found, we have no hope of finding civilization.

I found water today. We have been parched for the past three days, without any food or water floating over the water on life preservers from the ship. After finding the water, I decided to search the island for any food or animals that Dave and I could eat.

We have only found coconuts to eat, and we can’t live off of them forever. Dave went fishing with a spear, and caught a brightly colored species of octopus. He also said there were many wonderful fish swimming in the corals under the water, but they were too fast for him to catch.

Today we lit a fire in hopes of being seen by any passing ships or planes. Nothing passed, but we began to hear strange noises almost like chanting coming from a small island about one hundred yards away.
Saturday 17th, 1996
We decided to drift over to the distant island where we heard the chanting. I used Dave’s guitar as a temporary raft, because Dave was using his life preserver. Mine had been washed away by the high tide on the night we arrived at the island. We arrived at the island to find only dying coals, and plastic cups along the beach side. Surely this couldn’t be an inhabited place? We slept on the beach tonight, and we would explore this island more tomorrow.

This morning we woke to find the biggest surprise of our lives! We had been saved by tons of blonde babes! The best thing was that they thought I was an idol because I swam in on Dave’s guitar!

I am never going back to normal civilization, this is heaven! This will be the last time I will ever be writing in this journal. Goodbye to all who I know, and Dave is staying too, so one of the world’s great musicians will be gone. Thank you, and have a good life while I enjoy being surrounded by blonde babes!
