Time seemed to be standing still as Sean looked at the photograph, slightly torn around the edges, brown with age and with a few coffee stains on it. However, it was the evidence Sean had been seeking for the past twenty years.

This single photograph proved

Sean’s innocence and was proof that he had nothing to do with the assassination of Peter

Red, head of the former government of Russia at the time.

Sean had been searching for this photograph for nearly twenty years and now that he

had found the essential evidence to regain his freedom, he quickly packed his few

possessions and booked a flight to Russia without hesitation.

Meanwhile, there are always evil villains trying to destroy another person’s life, and

this was exactly what Steven Thompson, the first person to be ever cloned, was striving

towards. Steven Thompson, without a doubt the clone of Sean Thompson, was

the cause of the death of the president. However, although Steven was the murderer, Sean

had taken the blame…and Steven was not about to let that end. Therefore, after hearing

the news of Sean going to Russia with the evidence to clear his name, he too made his way to Russia.

Back in Russia, Sean had just arrived and was stepping down from the plane when

he heard a shot being fired. He did not know what was happening but the plane’s fragile

window right beside Sean has shattered into pieces scattering glass all over the place.

Instantly, Sean knew that his “brother” has come as well to try and abort his mission to

regain freedom. Sean immediately dived for the nearest vehicle, a motorcycle which had

its engine still roaring, in an effort to avoid being shot. The Russian president is normally

found in the State Duma, which was only a few minutes drive from the airport. It was to

that location that Sean was trying to reach on a stolen, old motorcycle.

Just two minutes

down the road, Sean spotted someone following him in a shiny, black jaguar, a car that

could outrun his motorcycle any day. Desperately trying to lose his tail, Sean entered

access roads, twisting and turning, going round in circles in an effect to lose his chaser.

Finally, Sean was able to lose the jaguar with a series of tricks and headed directly

towards the State Duma. However, when he got there he was astounded to see the same

shiny jaguar was parked neatly outside the State Duma. There was also a shadow behind

the car holding something that was aimed at Sean.

Sean sprinted inside, hearing shots that skimmed his hair, only to collide with the

new president himself. He quickly showed the photograph to the president, who

immediately summoned his legal staff to discuss this issue. Both Sean and Steven were

taken into custody and questioned. But a few days later, Sean was declared innocent and

it wasn’t long after that was Steven trailed and jailed for the assassination of the former

president.

In addition, Sean was offered a job as the president’s own private secretary,

which to Sean, made everything worthwhile.

Too much info in too little time – lots of action but not enough thought

Funny how readers see things differently, I thought you did a great job getting an action packed story over in so few words!

I agree with glynis. I believe it was well written

I disagree with #1. I thought the information was presented very well in a neatly compact short novel. Thanks for sharing. This resembles a bit to The Day Trujillo Died. Check it out.

A great story and reminder to never give up, how well expressed in such a short and drastic story.
