Broadly speaking, betta fish are divided into three types :

Halfmoon

Halfmoon name given because these fish have tails semicircular (180 “), so it looks like the shape of half moon. In addition there are types of Halfmoon that stretch of tail more than 180″ (over Halfmoon)

Double Tail

As the name implies, this fish has two separate tails. Tail shape is similar to the shape of the tail Halfmoon stretch of 180 “. The difference, double tail has two separate tail fin and upper (dorsal) which is longer, thus making it larger and beautiful.

Short Tail

This species has a similar fin as Halfmoon, but its size is shorter. That’s why this fish is called by the name of the short tail.
For hobbyists who are just starting to maintain, highly recommended this type than the other types because the treatments are much easier.

Crown Tail

In Indonesia this kind  called “serit” because the shape of the tail fins is considered to resemble a comb for the hair. Crown tail have bones that look out on every fins. These bones neatly arranged so that it looks very beautiful. In fact, there is a crown tail that has a cross on the tail bone  (cross ray or king crown tail).

Currently, fans betta fish in Indonesia have been very many, scattered in various areas. Betta fish contests were often held both the level of regional, national, and international levels.
