A boy has a nightmare. And this is his story…
The sunlight broke through the horizon as Randalf was preparing for school. ‘Mum! Did you pack my lunch?’ He yelled out across the room. ‘Yes honey,’ was the reply. He loved his mother’s voice in the morning, always sweet and tender. As he grabbed his bag and prepared to leave, he ensured that he had everything he needed for school that day. ‘Kukukuku’ rang the bird clock. ‘Oh no! It’s seven already? I am going to be late if I don’t rush.’ He dashed out of the house and ran like the wind towards school.
“Ding dong,” the school bell rang through the entire school complex signalling that school hours had ended. Randalf was ecstatic as this meant the school holidays has started. His two closest friends grabbed him and pulled him outside the school compound. “What are you doing? Why am I here?” demanded Randalf as he was dragged and pulled to an abandoned compound. “Keep quiet. We got something special,” replied his friend in hushed tone. A white powder-like substance was produced from one of the boy’s pockets. “Is that drugs?” questioned Randalf who was both curious about drugs, yet wanting to shun it if it was drugs. “No, it is good stuff. Nice stuff. Candy. Yes candy, nice sweet candy,” replied his friend, who was already preparing for the drug to be used. Randalf was unfortunately a candy addict and unbeknown to him, it was really a drug. He eyed the white package suspiciously before saying cheerfully,” So, how do we do this?” They demonstrated how the drugs were to be used and soon, Randalf found his head spinning and as he inhaled what seemed to be a cigarette-looking thing. As he was about to black out onto the cold stony floor, the last he heard was his friends laughing. Like a sly laughter, from the way it sounds, it sounds horrible, or at least that was what he thought. Slam he went and laid unconscious on the floor.
A pain crept through the side of his body. ‘Ouch, is that my brother hitting me again?’ he wondered. The pain was becoming unbearable and he woke finding a large light upon him. He raised his hand to shield his eyes from the bright light and realised that policemen had swarmed the room. ‘Oh no, I’m in deep trouble.’ He attempted to flee, but the police subdued him quickly. He was hauled away to wards a waiting police vehicle and he saw the same thing being done to his friends. He kicked and screamed, but to no avail. He slumped his head as he was coerced into the awaiting police vehicle.
