The life of Bailey, a beautiful ginger cat from Anchorage, Alaska.
Mama cat Whiskers awoke on a soggy spring morning with unusual cramps in her womb, the contractions were starting and the time of the births was drawing near. She let out a blood curdling scream that awoke the residences of the small trailer home on Anchorage’s east side. Natasha and Victoria jumped from their beds and ran over to Whiskers. The girls were confused, they had never heard such and awful noise coming from their cat and were unaware that two months earlier a tom cat named Gordon had impregnated Whiskers in an alley behind the trailer park. Whiskers moans became sharper as the Natasha and Victoria argued loudly in Russian about what to do about their ailing feline. The cacophony of meows, niets, and various other unintelligible Russian phrases suddenly came to a halt. The girls looked down at Whiskers and were surprised at what lay before their eyes. Four new kittens lay in the cardboard box once occupied by just Whiskers. Natasha scrambled to get suitable bedding materials while Victoria created a protected space in the closet for the mama and her new litter.
The proud new mom looked down at her brand new kittens. She was young, it had only been a few weeks after her first birthday that she became pregnant. She knew it was a mistake meeting that tom cat in the alley but the calls of nature were too much for her to handle. She was afraid for the future, young cats with kittens were not looked upon highly in her community, and they would be ostracized by the other cats. There was also the distinct possibility that whiskers would have precious few weeks with her kittens as the owners had a tendency to give them away. Whiskers tried not to concern herself with such things, she wanted to enjoy her time with these little bundles of joy.
The kittens grew quickly, each developing their own personality and style. Nicholi was the runt of the litter, he was a rather daft fellow and the simplest of tasks were hard for him. Candy, the only female, was the baby of the group. She had a keen awareness of others and knew how to use it to her advantage. Nemo was an overweight and sullen creature. He rarely showed any emotion and spent most of his time alone in a corner of the box. The only time he would get up and move around is when he was hungry. Last and most defiantly not least was the golden god of cats, Bailey. He was nearly perfect in every way possible. He was a genius unlike any cat before him, just one look into his eyes shows how much wonder and intelligence is contained in his most excellent of brains. His fur was unimaginable beautiful and kept in the most immaculate of conditions at all time. His athleticisms knows no bounds, he was easily the fastest and most agile cat of the group. The family loved each other very much, but they did not know what shocking event was just right around the corner.
