A former white supremacist has a change of heart after meeting a black store owner and blues musician who shares the wisdom of his soul.

Joe walked into Beecher’s store for some supplies and refreshments, he heard music coming from the back.   He had guessed that back there was a storeroom, he later found out that old Wes Beecher lived in that back room.

Joe had been raised by his uncle, who was a klansman, and it seemed that Joe was on his way down that same road. That was however, before he met Wes Beecher, a black man with some wisdom that was burning to be shared.

Wes told him

“I’ve seen what hate and bitterness can do”

“I’ve seen the blind leading the blind, I want better for you”

“We are all the blood of Adam, we are all Children of the Lord,

and child, for your blind foolishness, I have forgiven you”

This black minstrel, this black sage had spoken words that made Joe think, He realized that the man he’d thought  was a savage, had a soul. His heart began to melt as he listened every day, Joe slowly let go, of his racist ways. Joe realized he’d been brainwashed into his uncle’s bigotry, but the good thing Wes taught him, is Jesus came to set the captives free.

Joe no longer had to be a slave to darkness, in Jesus he found light and liberty.
