I didn’t know where I was going; I had no one to stay with. It took me forever to decide where to go, but soon I decided to stay at the park. As I got to the park, not many people were there. I climbed to the top of the playground and sat there, thinking. Still thinking about all that just happened; it was all too unimaginable. I closed my eyes and tears started to escape my eyes. It was still sunny, so I grabbed my stuff and went to the mall. 1

No doubt, my face looked like a mess from all the crying, but I did not care. I walked to my favorite store, Hot Topic. The only one who treated me as a friend, the store manager, greeted me.
“Hey, Star,” Alex sounded cheery. Alex was a 20 year old, tall person with snakebites, he had short hair with neon green, and blue streaks, and his fringe covered one eye. 2

“Hi,” I managed to say, “mind if I put this here while I look around?” 3

“Sure.” 4

I dropped my bags behind the counter and looked around the store. I was so lost in my thoughts that I picked out all black, I always had color, and did not realize it until Alex said something about it. 5

“All black? Hmmm, that is very unlikely of you Star. Is something wrong?” 6

“Huh,” still lost in thoughts,” uhm yea I’m fine. Just a lot has been on my mind lately.” 7

“Oh, okay.” He rang up my items; I grabbed my things from behind the counter, paid, and was on my way back to the park.8

When I got out of the mall, the sun was gone and it was cold. I grabbed the hoodie I just bought, put it on, and then walked back to the park. I decided not to go to school tomorrow because I didn’t want to go through hell feeling like this. Pictures from the crime scene buzzed through my head; blood everywhere. I was back at the park and tears covered my face. No one was at the park now; “All of the people must be home happily with their families,” I thought to myself. I climbed the playground and settled at the top; I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep. 9

It was dark and I was alone. I screamed for help but no sound in return came. I couldn’t see a thing. I felt around only feeling a cold concrete wall. After following the wall, it seems to be that I was trapped in a box no way out or in. It was cold and I curled up into a ball trying to gather up warmth. Suddenly voices came from the wall. They all said, “You’re next.” I got up and ran still trying to find myself a way out, no use. The voices got louder and louder to where apparently they were screaming out me. I looked up still trying to get out, and then I saw them, my parents. They had a smile on their faces as if nothing was happening at all. I can still hear all the screams, but I didn’t care I ran to my parents trying to give them a hug but I just ran through them. I was confused. I reached out for them, but my hand went through them. It was a trick my mind was playing on me and I broke into more tears.10

Soon I woke up from the nightmare, panting like crazy, and crying more than before. I just didn’t know what to do.
