The prologue to a short book I wrote called blue plague, it is a story about a plague that devastates the lives of those who live in the future. You follow the story of the main characters and every mishap.
Have you ever wanted to change your past? I have, though I don’t regret it because I couldn’t stop it. You’d think that they’d have time machines, but they haven’t been invented. I just want to go back, and get another chance to tell them, to tell everyone how I felt. It’s the only wish I have. But maybe, just maybe, by telling you this story I’ll get my chance to tell them how I felt, no how I feel.
It all started with an outbreak after the remains of a perfectly frozen triceratops was found in Antarctica. The scientists examining this creature found a new organism in its blood stream. They took several samples back to America. It was there they discovered that this organism could not fit into any known areas. It had no kingdom, no domain, but it had life.
Without realizing it, they had let the organism thaw. But by then it was too late. Several of the scientists became sick with this new illness, and it was released. In a matter of days millions of people were infected. The infection received the name, blue plague, for it left all of its victims with blue skin. It could get you. It was carried in the air, and could creep into your skin. Shortly people exiled one another, they wouldn’t even want to be around loved ones. The world split itself into groups.
They split into five groups, based on how strongly it affected them. The first were anemic, and they were a severe case. The second were people with average health, and they were a moderately severe case. Third, were people who had good health, and they were considered mild. The fourth had extraordinary health, and were considered very mild. The fifth group didn’t even have the illness.
The world’s best scientists were gathered and they took people from all of these groups and quarantined them. Here they searched and searched for a cure. And for me that cure would never be found fast enough.
