Railroad short story about railroad dispatcher working overtime, saving the company trunkline from being bottlenecked (traffic jam).

“Good morning Hubby,” my Mom walked over and sealed him a kiss, and then she hugged him good.

“I was talking with kids about another night of bottlenecked shift.” my Dad said. “Good news I am having one day off before going back to work.”

“Oh,” my Mom said before realize this, “but are you coming with me to see Amy’ and Tracks wedding? We told them that we will come, all of us as a family.”

“Gosh,” my Dad exclaimed. ” I forgotten about this one. Is it on Saturday?”

“Yeah.” she looked funny when she isn’t dress up and her hair swayed other way as she stood by kitchen counter, talking serious.”

“Can I call in after I wake up?”

“No, now.”

“Ah, give me a break.”

“I will call them for you.”

“Uh-umm, you better talk with Betsy. I am totally wreak out.”

“You better stop talking about bottlenecking and go upstairs. I will be there,” my mom said. My Dad got up from his chair exhaustedly. We all looked him walk toward the stairs. My Mom were gravely worry and gave a deep sigh and then turned to us. “Now, what shall we do for today?”
