I first thought of this at school and have been wanting to do a “Camp” story ever since. Beware, this is a bit on the Supernatural side.

So here I am, sitting at the back of the bus, watching the cloud of dust trail behind us. My friends are talking about the latest video games and consoles and it is all too exciting. We go along bumpy roads but nobody seems to notice that because everyone is so busy talking and being excited like me. After a couple of hours, we finally arrive. We grab our day packs, say a thanks to the driver and step out. 2 Camp instructors greet us, Nick and Andrew. They help the teachers take out our luggage for the week and we all sit at the campfire. It is almost getting dark by now and some of us get out our jumpers and put them on. After a while, we are led to the food hall where we take out our mess kits and get served with food. I ate some pizza and drank Coke. When we had finished, the teacher allocated us our cabins for the week and we settled in. I chose a middle bunk. Alex was on the bed above me, Sam below me and Sidney, Wilson and Albert was on another bunk. There was a small bathroom at the end of our room and a couple of windows. It was getting very cold and I knew it was going to be the best camp ever.

My friends played PSP’s and listened to iPods to pass the time. Around 9:30pm, we went into the boys shower block and we had a shower. It was so funny because everyone was running around in the nuddie and flicking each other with towels and an occasional, “OUCH!”. It was so funny. We got dressed into our pyjamas and ran back to our cabin which was in the middle of the other cabins. I spread out my sleeping bag and got my pillow ready and then the teachers came and said, “Lights Out!”. Most of my friends were asleep and I drifted off when a strange moaning sound was heard from outside. A couple of people went outside; from each cabin, to see what it was, but nothing could be seen. I was starting to want to go home because this camp was slightly getting creepy.

The next morning, I woke up last and got myself quickly dressed. Our instructors, Austin and Ryan came to tell us it was breakfast and to come quickly, “well der?” I said to myself. My friends and I grabbed our mess kits and ran outside to join everyone to walk to the dining hall. On the way, a couple of kids started singing, ‘100 bottles of beer on the wall’, and most people joined in except for some like me, because I was so tired and hadn’t fully woken up yet. We arrived and the “chefs” at the camp were preparing the breakfast meals. We could choose from cereal, or hot food like bacon & eggs and toast. I went in line to get my plate served with bacon & eggs because they’re my favourite. Everyone ate the food happily and the instructors announced that we go into our groups to go on a game called Hunters and the Hunted.
