One day Carl the solid ice cube decided that he was going to leave the comfort of the nice, cold freezer and go out and battle the elements! He left the freezer as a solid ice cube, and was ready to go through many phase changes, and even become a gas! He got out of the freezer, and into a weird box that looked inviting. He was already melting a bit, so there was a bit of Carl the ice cube and a little bit of Carl the cold liquid.

When he was in the box, it was extremely hot, and Carl the ice cube began to melt and Carl the cold liquid began to vaporize. Carl had gone through his first major energy increase! He was now Carl the water vapor. Carl the water vapor floated out of the box, and went out into the world. The first thing that happened was he met a block of dry ice named Zaxyfuzkindle (nick-named Zkindle).

“Hi Zkindle,” said Carl the water vapor.
“Hi! I am really worried about turning to gas,” said Zkindle, and Carl the water vapor already could tell that he was sublimating.

“What’s wrong with being a gas?” said Carl.
“Well I don’t know,” said Zkindle who was now completely CO2 gas, “It is cool being able to move freely.”
Carl left Zkindle, and went along his way. Presently, he found himself in a cloud. He started to condensate, and he fell down as rain, but he was swept upwards by the wind, and he froze. He was now had larger volume, and he had gone through an energy decrease. He came back to earth, and as soon as he hit the warm street he melted, and soon after, he was Carl the water vapor. He landed on a leaf, and he went through the process of deposition and turned to frost. He was back to his favorite state of mater, solid.
