When the time came for me to go to school, I realised that there may be a chance to play a real drum. But, as things turned out, the promising start to a drumming career did not go as well as I might have hoped.
The brave little tin soldier had melted!
However, that distressing incident did not crush my overwhelming desire to be a drummer. A few years later my dream was eventually realized. I joined the Dover Branch of the Sea Cadet Corps and was given my own marching side drum!
