The wanting of being somebody in Life.
As a child you have many dreams. You fantasize about being somebody. Whether it being a famous rock-star or a doctor. When you are a child it feels as if those dreams of a wonderful future with life are within your reach.
As a growing child I had dreams of being many things in life. Here are the following things of my imagination of one day being a somebody in life.
!)A Nurse
2)A Lifeguard
3)A rock-star
4)A doctor
5)A solider
6) A cop
7) A correctional officer
A Graphics Art Designer
Those dreams fell short many years ago when reality came to focus. You gotta have money for school to do those things, come from a wealthy family, or have a scholarship. None of which I had. Being a solider was one thing I could do, unfortunately I could not pass the 3 hr written test!
So you get a job,try to save money. But life sometimes throws us curve balls and sometimes you end up meeting that special someone and dreams kinda fade out of focus.
A marriage and 2 kids later only to find myself wanting more out of life, a dream again of life, being somebody not just a wife and mother.
I find myself wanting to be a book Author and An Artist of Art.
I have 2 great ideas in my head for 2 books. One is a drama book and the other an adventure book. The way the Internet is and self-publishing companies out there it is cheap to self-publish. The hardest part I find for myself is taking these great ideas and forming them into a book.
I have character names in my head and what parts they will be in the story and know exactly what I want my books to be about .
But yet, I find it hard to actually put the story down on paper.
I have also had an interest in art. Airbrush, oil painting, etc. Even as a preteen I would draw little doodles and pictures. My mother at one point did tell a friend I was good at drawing. Then one day my little heart was shock to be told, “I don’t know why your mother said you could draw.”
I thought my doodles were good. Guess not.
Last time I can recall drawing something was at the age of 17. I was bored one night and could not sleep, so I took my notebook and started to draw a mini comic book. “Psycho Dyke” is what it was called and the leading character was Lena. She was Psycho Dyke, but she was a hero in a cape not a crazy chick.and she fought crime. LOL. I drew it all up with in 3 days time and added color and bubbles with what was going on. I probably still have it lost somewhere in packed of things from years ago.
I see this great big canvas in my head with this beautiful art forming, but when it comes to painting on cavas it’s hard for me to paint that beautiful picture, I see so clearing in sight of mind.
I received my first guitar at the age of 12. From my guarding whom til this day is a friend I still keep in touch with. We went to the music store in town and she bought me my first guitar, I picked it out. It was black, 6-string. Got the books to learn the cords as well. I played with it for like 2 weeks and then it was no longer fun for me. It frustrated me to have to sit there and learn the chords to form the music. I also thought I was a genius of music when I was little because my dad was a drummer. Little did I know. You actually have to learn cords to play well!!!
I do still have interest in one day learning. My husband recently gave me his old one and is so ready and willing to teach me how to play. Music is a passion of his. He learned how to play guitar as a child and til this day plays and make little music videos and writes songs. But he never sings them, for he feels he has no voice for the words.
At least one child hood dream is still in reach, lol. But I don’t see rock-star on that title. lol.
Please feel free to comment with your child hood dreams or current ones. And if you have any helpful pointers or links to help me with that writers block, well please comment.
