In an attempt to restart her life the character declares New Year as Null and Void… And starts over again.
Null and Void
Two weeks, two sodding weeks into the2010 and here I was thinking this year was going to be different. Not looking any different so far unless you include the inordinate amount of Snow which has actually been the cause of more than at least one of my troubles of late. Ice, slip, whoops broken arm…
The original New Years Eve hardly got off to a rip roaring start.
You see I have this amazing ability to miss the blindingly obvious. In my had the fairy tale was in full swing, problem is in reality the only thing in full swing was my imagination, along with my desire, almost desperate desire to find happiness. Love would render my fairy tale complete but hey, ya can’t ave it all. Happiness would do just fine. I’m not greedy you know.
So here I am two weeks into the 2010 and my world is literally falling apart!
Just to give you some idea of where we’re at
· Boyfriend, not boyfriend sods off to spend New Years’ Eve with ‘a friend’ who just happens to be female
· Started the year off with a broken arm
· Weather has made it nigh on impossible to get back to work (meaning no pay for yet another week, umm just one of the pitfalls of being self employed)
· Lost a contract with local authority, which accounts for about a third of my income (recession)
· Landlord informed me he wants the house back to sell it, he’s skint, (bloody recession). I’d buy it myself if I could get a mortgage, not likely no-one wants to loan you a dime let alone a mortgage unless you have a million guarantees. I.e. Steady income, of which I don’t
· Then the icing on the cake boyfriend, not boyfriend, now officially ex boyfriend DUMPED me! Which really does take my crappy life to new height
