A walk into the dark….

The night curving into night

was stunning,

the stars were bright,

but what he saw in her face was cunning,

he was feeling a terrible exasperation,

then she offered,

and there was temptation,

she raised her hand,

a slight command,

and he shrank,

clutching for the railing,

his heart sank,

and reality went sailing,

emotions flailing,

and he felt oppressed and weak,

she was an illusion,

but a possibility to a conclusion,

then he heard the priest say,

grab God’s hand,

as he takes you away,

staring into darkness at first,

and holding it tight,

eyes white,

as he went into the light.
