The banyan tree stood form on the ground. The birds took shelter on its branches and its thick foliage. Nothing happened to the banyan tree.

`I do not think you can be a match to me,’ it told to banyan tree, standing next to it. `See, your leaves are too tiny. Tour fruits are bitter. You are not as tall as I am.’
The banyan tree said nothing. It stood quietly with its large canopy of leaves. It had tiny fruits which the birds that nested in the tree loved to eat. During hot summer, people loved to rest in the cool shade of the tree. They feel happy. Children played under the tree and swung on the hanging roots.
Then the storm came. The worst storm the trees had ever seen. The coconut tree swayed violently. It was almost bent to the ground. Thanks to its strong roots, the tree did not get uprooted. All its fruits fell on the ground.
The banyan tree stood form on the ground. The birds took shelter on its branches and its thick foliage. Nothing happened to the banyan tree.
Once, the storm subsided, the coconut tree said with banyan tree. “I am sorry, I thought I was stronger and spoke badly of you. But now I know you are special in your own way. Each of us has special qualities ad we must respect each other.’
The banyan tree smiled slowly.
