When I first started college, I was so excited to accomplish a lot of new goals, meet tons of new people, and meet that one special person. However, I didn’t realize that halfway through my year, I started to slow down. I didn’t meet most of the goals I set out to do. I just kind of let life pass me by. Hopefully you can learn from my experiences and complete most of your adventures in college.

However, I didn’t realize that halfway through my year, I started to slow down. I didn’t meet most of the goals I set out to do. I just kind of let life pass me by. Hopefully you can learn from my experiences and complete most of your adventures in college.

1. Go to a college party

One of the biggest things I was looking forward to was going to a college party and meeting a lot of cool people. However, that never really panned out. I let the first week pass by. I tried to go to one, but it didn’t seem like my friends from back home wanted to go. It was because I was too nervous to go to a party by myself.

Now I’m not advocating for underage drinking. I’m really against that. I’m just encouraging people to go to a party and judge for themselves whether it is the right crowd for them. You never really know for sure unless you try it at least once. If you do choose to drink, drink responsibly. Don’t get drunk and regret it the next day. Who knows what you’ll do in your drunken state.

2. Keep in touch with my friends back home

When I went to college, I was so looking forward to all the new people I would meet. At first, I hung out with my friends from home because I didn’t know anybody else. However, as a couple months passed by, I started to hang out with new friends. Eventually, I just simply forgot about them. I tried my best to reconnect after a few months, but it was too late. It was like we went off to different colleges except we live only about a mile apart. My advice is to meet new people but include your friends from back home into your life. I still want to maintain those connections because I do believe they’re great friends to know. Don’t forget your friends at home who have encouraged and motivated you so that you could reach this point in your life. Don’t leave them out of your life. Out of all the billions of people on this planet, be glad you both had a chance to meet and reach this special point of your life together.
