What do you think a collision course is? I think it’s two opinions colliding to create a sudden disagreement. Here are some examples of when opinions collided creating terrible conflicts.

“Collision Course”

I think a collision course is when two perspectives of different subjects collide and create a conflict or a disagreement. Many people have had to collide to form our country’s history including:

The Revolutionary War – The war when the British colonists grew angered that they were under British rule and rebelled to win and form what we now know as America. (1700s)

The War of 1812 – Fought between the United States and the British Empire for many reasons including trade restrictions, British support of American Indian tribes against American expansion, and the humiliation of American honor.

(1812-1815)

World War 2 – When Hitler, dictator of Germany, came to power during the 1940s he crossed the line with many countries and declared all-out war on many countries including the United States. It started when Germany invaded Poland, causing Poland’s allies to step in, but then backfiring with due to Germany’s allies joining the war.

(1939)

Cold War – When World War 2 had ended, Berlin was split into 4 sections. Three of the sections joined to form one territory, but the Soviet Union owned a section and refused to join it with the rest and blocked it off forming an enclave.

(Late 1940s after WW2)

Vietnam War – When South Vietnam was invaded by North Vietnam, the United States came in and fought to keep South Vietnam from being conquered by a communist nation.

(1955-1975)
