Just a little blog about me and my amazing adventures as a professional couch potato.

Well, I guess I had better start at the beginning. My name is Lucy. Yeah just a "plain Jane" kind of name. No Lucinda or Lucella, nothing hip, just Lucy. I was named after some lady who lived in some strange gray place called TV Land. I don’t think I ever met her in person. I have such a great memory…I probably would have remembered my name-sake.

I have this huge home. And a condo poolside. I really don’t need all of this space, but it was given to me by a great couple, William and Diane, adopted me in when I was 2 years old.

My life is simple, the way I can imagine a lot of city folks would envy. It is quiet around here all day and most of the night, except in the summer. There are lots of birds in the trees out back, that give me many hours of amusement and music. In the back five, there are two stupid llamas, Van Gogh and Sword Bearer. What utterly ridiculous names for such a pair! They just stand around looking at you like you are stupid. Munch, munch, munch! And those piles of coffee-flavored-gourmet-jelly-beans look alikes they leave lying around. Not too stinky, just weird. Marbles anyone?

Two cats roam the place. Cat Guy and Fortune. No one ever made two cats so entirely different! Cat Guy is not too smart. And he never was too sociable, except when he had been rolling in the dirt on a hot summer day and needed someone to rub off the dust. Or when he was cold. He gets the luxury of sharing my bed on a cold winter night. Curled around my cold feet. Then he’s off in the morning populating the neighborhood. Fortune on the other hand, is a sophistocat. What a pun! She must be from royal stock somewhere down the line. Hair like white silk strands, flowing in the breeze and deepest, piercing azure blue eyes. She’s as brilliant as cats are made, a hunter by nature. And haughty! Yeah, she shares the bed too. But it has to be on her own terms. Everyone must be settled in quietly before she takes her place. Last ot bed, first to rise.

For a girl, I am pretty athletic. I love football. Nothing can compare with the thrill of catching a long pass from someone. I’m quite good at it. But the scouts passed me by many times. It must be a female thing. And a few laps in the pool on a blistering day is shear joy! I enjoy diving. That scout overlooked me again too! William and Diane once told me they were going to submit a video of me some day. But I don’t recall that ever happening.
