Day 1, Freddas, Season of Ice

I am not sure on how to start one of these journals, so I assume I must tell you a few things about myself. I was born during the Season of Storms, and am an Argonian, born in the Black Marsh, a much despised place in Tamriel. We usually are referred to as slaves, but two years ago, we were set free. I became a guard in the city of Anvil, and I shattered all odds, and became a knight, and body guard of the countess. There really is not much to tell about me, so I shall begin the tale of my life.

Today, I woke up in my house, which is located right next to the Gold Coast, and got dressed, into my knight uniform. My main job is to patrol the Gold Road, which is a large roadway that leads to four main towns: Kvatch, which has just been rebuilt after its Oblivion crisis, Skingrad, Anvil, and the capital of Cyrodiil, the Imperial City. I mounted my horse, sheathed my steel claymore, and rode along coastal road.  As I approached the city of Kvatch, I noticed some smoke in the distance, rising up from a small farmhouse. Upon further investigation, I noticed the whole house was set ablaze… and I could hear a shriek of pain coming from the inside of the burning building.

Quickly, I jumped off my horse and ran towards the towering inferno. I smashed the door down, and there I saw her: a beautiful maiden with a mane of gold, lying there, on the floor. I picked her up, and made sure I carried her out right away. When we were about a hundred feet away from the house, the beautiful Khajiit opened her cat-eyes. In a hushed tone, she whispered to me, “Necromancers… they came from all sides, and stole all of my possessions. When they left, they cast a spell, and before I knew it, my house was on fire. I was in so much fear, I couldn’t move!” I looked at her in the eyes, telling her it will all be okay.

After that moving moment, I helped her onto my horse, and we rode back into town. The doctors checked her out, and they said she was fine. I realized her home was burnt down, so I decided she could stay with me. There is no harm in being helpful, right?
