This short story tells the tale of a girl falls in love with a man she doesn’t truly know. A man who is hiding a dark secret. Will she be able to learn the truth before it is too late? Read and find out.

He wrapped his black as night wings around my worn withered body. His arms coiled around my waist like a snake as he lifted me off my feet and carried me like a new born baby. His chest was bear and my tears ran down his stone stomach as I pressed my cheek harder against him and griped my arms around his neck, burying my nails deep into his silken black hair.
I don’t know how long he carried me. A few minutes, hours maybe even days had gone by without my notice. Time didn’t seem to make sense anymore. Nothing seemed to make sense or to even matter. The only thing I could feel was his body, hot and pulsing next to mine. The desire that had begun to stir deep within me the moment he touched me was steadily building like a volcano just waiting to erupt.
I must have drifted in and out of sleep as we traveled. When my eyes would flutter open weird images would appear before me. We were walking through a baron wasteland. Leaf less broken trees were every where and ash and smoke filled the air around us. As I lifted my heavy head to the red blackened sky I spotted a flock of grotesc three headed birds, only they didn’t really look like birds. More like a strange mixture between a bird and some reptilian creature. It had the head, beak and legs of a bird, but it’s body was scaly with spikes running down it’s back and atop it’s head. They had forked tails with lethal looking spears at each end and their wings were a rubbery elastic material like a bat’s.
Just then the biggest one of the bunch at the front of the flock spotted us and let out a deadly ear piercing screech. The sound was deafening and it filled every fiber of my being with pain making my body shake and rumble. I could feel my eyes roll back into my head and then everything around me went dark again.
I awoke some time later. I was no longer in the safety of his arms. I was now laying down atop a solid oak framed bed with silky blood red sheets. I tried to sit up but the blood rushed to my head and I fell back down with a dizzy thud. I lay there for awhile staring at the gray stone ceiling, not a thought or care in my head. I couldn’t think about anything really. My mind felt groggy and blank. I was a blank canvas, no past, no present, and no future. I felt empty inside, hollow even. And then I heard his voice, creamy an smooth, like pure honey.
