I never believed in stories.. but that day became an important story in my life.

It was that day which made me believe in stories, which made me believe in life. A true story that made me think a lot. None would be able to say that why these all things happened after I narrate the story.

It happened on a Friday. I woke up with a smile on my face and a lot of plans in my mind. Usually these plans won’t work. So I decided to work on it somehow. First thing in the plan list was to obtain some results of my blood test from the hospital near city. All the way to hospital walking in rush, finally reached. The counter was so tight that I made in a queue placing first from the last. Waiting for an hour I got the test result and with a great joy I left the hospital. All the test result was positive and I was so happy. Walking beside the road, I got to see my old friend. Talked with him a lot of things that we usually shared at the time of schooling and all that. He was looking fresh and energetic. I was so happy to see him after a long time. We shook hands and left from there.

The time from then was very much important in the story am narrating here. With a warm greeting my friend crossed the road to either side. At that time I realized that I didn’t have his phone number. I just waved my hands to my friend and asked him to cross the road and give his number. All I said was sign language this time. We were standing on either sides of the road.

The traffic signal became red. It was a green signal for persons to cross the road. Then it happened. It was so horrible. My friend crossed the road but couldn’t complete. A crazy driver at very high speed hit him so hard that he died on the scene. The driver never looked at the traffic signal. He was such a crazy guy that he took the life of my friend. A 10 second time, it was the only time that made the faith took his life. Everything was perfect; the signal was red for the vehicle and green to cross. But one thing was irregular, that was his faith.

Whom should we blame? A rash driver or the people who crosses the road on the green signal? If that driver had looked on the traffic signals, my friend would have been still alive. We might have planned so many things together. All came to an end on that day. He could have even lived a long if I wouldn’t have called him back. I fought for him in the court to obtain the justice for his soul. The driver was punished to set some money for his family. For what I was the reason for a life, I fought for the justice and gave him a rest in the peace.

This is not a story, it happened for real in front of my eyes, which invisibly I became a reason. I beg to all the persons who are driving vehicles, to be caution about the driving and to look at the traffic signals while driving.

An absent mind for a fraction of second can take a life of somebody else.
