Déjà vu

Jerry lad in the early thirties was taking a stroll along the beach when he suddenly saw an object floating in water. He stopped for a moment as the object caught his attention. He instinctively moved towards the water and dipped his palm in it to get hold of the object which was slowly attempting to move towards the shore. As he grabbed the floating object, to his amazement, he realized that it was a small yellow colored box with a note stuck on it. The note read “This is for you Jerry “.  “Jerry“was stunned to see the note which read his name on it. He looked around to see if he could see anyone who was known to him.  He could not see anyone around. He quickly opened the box and was flabbergasted to see a small ring inside it. The ring had a “J “letter embossed on it. He closed his eyes and tears gushed down his eyes. It was a ring that his beloved wife had gifted to him. His beloved wife with whom he wasn’t on talking terms due to a spat that had occurred between them a month back and had eventually resulted in a Silent war. Jerry wondered how the ring reached the beach. Suddenly he was recalled of the happier days when his wife had gifted that ring to him. He somehow got a bit worried and quickly took his mobile out and decided to break the silence. He, quickly put his hands in the Breast pocket, took the mobile phone out and made a call to his wife, however, the call went to the Voicemail. Jerry was disappointed and somehow became desperate to hear his wife’s voice.  He kept trying the phone until it was finally attended on the other side. He without waiting for a second said “Emilia “, you there? She said “Hi Jerry! I thought we were not speaking ?  , isn’t your ego hurt by the fact that u called me? “.

Jerry was quiet. He then said “I found our ring floating in the beach”. She asked “Which ring? “. Jerry said “Ring with a “J” on it? “.  She said “how does it matter really?”He said “It does matter to me coz I know that we love each other though I might not have expressed it too often to you. You know that I love you. Don’t you? “ . Emilia took a deep breath and said “No Jerry.  I didn’t know that you loved me “?  He said “I want to meet you “.  She said “hm”. Jerry quickly rushed towards home. As he reached home and entered the house, he saw the same yellow colored box lying there with the same ring that Jerry too had found inside the sea.  Jerry wondered how that was possible. He asked her, “Where did you find this box?” His wife replied “I saw it floating in the water“. Jerry got some Goosebumps as it was indeed a Déjà vu like feeling.   Just when he had this thought, he suddenly heard the alarm clock ring and say in a sing song tone “Wakie Wakie “! As Jerry opened his eyes, he quickly checked his fingers and found his wife’s ring intact. He Smiled after looking at it, kissed it and wondered how dreams could put a person in Frenzy !
