A short story.
“Hello there, are you lost? I kind of figured seeing how no one comes to this town anymore. I bet you’re wondering as to why? I guess I have enough time to tell you the story. Hell, I have more than enough time! Here, come inside and rest your weary feet first. You must be exhausted; finding yourself in the middle of no where. Don’t fret your pretty little head honey; it’s no problem at all.”
“There all comfy now? Good. All right lets see where should I begin? Ah! I know. Now how old are you darling? Hm eighteen, which makes me only four years older. I see you’re confused, don’t worry it ties into the story. You see u was a year younger than you when it happened. It was the start of the summer and I was running with my friends, laughing and having a good time. We soon had to stop, to get something to drink and eat, when everything began to change.”
“A woman came up to me and asked if I was the daughter of Laura Robertson. I told her that I was and then she smiled happily. Muttering something in a language I didn’t understand, she leaned forward and kissed me on my forehead. With one last glance in my direction, she quickly walked away. Suddenly I felt strange and noticed that the beautiful sunny day wasn’t so sunny anymore. It was like a huge storm cloud had blocked out the sun. I turned towards my friends to see if they were seeing this too. What I saw chills me to the bone still. The people who had once been my friends were now deformed creatures trying to mimic them.”
“Their frightening change sent me sprinting for home. As I ran the creatures chased me. The one wearing my best friends face almost caught me but I slammed the door on its hand, it let out an unearthly shriek and fled. At first I thought I was safe in my home, but suddenly a black substance began to ooze out of the walls in thick goblets. Suddenly these horrible blood curdling screams began to echo within my head. It was so loud that I couldn’t even manage to think.”
