The perils of one woman’s mind as she torments over selecting a lover and partner for life.

Her mind was numb. She was unable to think of anything clearly. Images were racing round her pretty little head.

The images varied between strong masculine embraces to soft delicate feminine kisses. She could not decide which one she wanted more.

She probably wanted them both equally but not at the one time. To her they were separate and individual. It was like they were opposite sides of a river bank and she was the river gently flowing between the two.

As the river she would carefully weave between the two, tantalising both sides as she tickled the grassy banks as they waited for her to make a selection.

But how do you make that kind of decision? How can you compare two opposite experiences and label one better than the other?

Being with him was magical, a union of souls, two spirited beings from opposing forces creating a perfect mix. He was practical and sensible. He was reliable and as solid as a rock.

She was unpredictable and spontaneous. Never knowing what to expect round any corner.

Yet somehow they managed to compliment each other perfectly. They were brilliant lovers. The sensation of his big harsh hands gently caressing the curves of her petite body sent shivers up and down her spine. She loved the feel of his leather like skin pushed against her body. The roughness and simplicity of it all.

So different to her other lover.

When they were together it was as if the whole world had stopped. It was like spending time with herself. They were similar in every aspect, only the slightest of differences could be found. From appearance to personalities and everything in between. The same, yet different.

She too had a man and struggled with the same conflict. Only she knew what she wanted to do.

She wanted to throw it all in. Leave behind the restraints of society. Resist all norms and conformity. She made it all sound so easy. For her, the choice was realised years ago, only she never had the balls. Now she did.

Only it wasn’t as easy as that for her. While she enjoyed the sweetness of their kisses and the delicate touch of her soft skin, she couldn’t break away from what society had drummed into her as the norm.

She knew they would never be able to share their secret. Family and friends wouldn’t be able to understand or see they beauty in their love. It was nice to think that they could survive with only each other, but deep down she new this would never be possible. There was too much at stake. The fear too great.
