How long before she would be able to hold her dear son in her arms? How long before she would be able to tell him that she loved him again?

Watching out the window she wondered if the snow would ever stop falling and her thoughts shifted back to her sons ideal chatter this morning in the car.  He had been ,so proud of his knowledge of snow.  Snow flakes were all different shapes and sizes.  No two flakes were the same size.

Seth was only in the third grade now and whenever he learned something new, he couldn’t wait to rush home to tell her.  She thought of the many hours at the dinner table going over what he had learned in school that day.  She complained about some of the things they taught him in school ,but she knew she wouldn’t change those experience for anything.   Terri knew it wouldn’t be long before Seth would be embrassed of her and not even want anything to do with her.  He wouldn’t want her to be part of her life.

She loved her dear little son with her whole heart and hated their time apart.  She was about to turn away from the window, she noticed a squad car turning onto their street.  Watching to see where they pulled up, she was shocked to see them pull up in front of her house.  Her stomach dropped miles to her feet and her heart was doing a race with an invisible enemy.

As she let the police in, she asked softly “What is wrong?  Is it my son or husband?  Please tell me they are fine. No, you wouldn’t be here if they were.  Oh my gosh, what has happened?”  She knew she was freaking as she stood there in front of the police demanded them to answer and not even giving them a chance to do so.

The older police officer stated  “Mrs.  Lewis, let’s go inside and sat down please.”

Her world crashed around her feet as she realized something was terrrible wrong and they were the unforunate souls here to tell her what it was.  Tears started to flow as she went over to her chair to lower herself into the softness of the chair.  Taking some deep breaths, she knew she was better in control of herself and asked the officers  “What is wrong?”

“Mrs. Lewis, is your son named Seth Allen Taylor and is he in the third grade?”

“Yes, he is.  What is wrong with him?”

“The school called this morning about ten and told us they couldn’t find Seth anywhere on the school grounds.  We sent a search party over to the school and we have searched the school ground plus the surrounding area.  We can’t find Seth any where.  I hate to ask this ,but does he take off when ever something doesn’t go his way?”

“Seth wouldn’t take off like that.  Some thing must have happen.  He knows to take off like that would be very wrong and scares me as well as his dad.  Oh, my gosh, I have to call his dad.”

“We have a search party still searching as we speak and another unit is going to speak with your husband, also.”

Time started to go in slow motion as they were speaking and the time she heard her husband’s car screech into the driveway.  As she meet her husband at the door, time seemed to spend up and she mouthed the words, “They can’t find Seth any where.  What are we going to do?”   Micheal, her husband held her close as the tears over flowed onto his shirt and the nightmare had began.   How long would they be without Seth?  How long before she would be able to hold her dear son in her arms once again?
