Something I wrote for a friend off a writing prompt.
“Don’t say yes!
Carlos please, please I beg of you, don’t marry her!” I scream, completely ignoring the stares of shock I receive from everyone inside the church, I’m not surprised, my brown hair is wind blown and my jeans are ripped, I cannot believe I am wearing jeans to his wedding.
He deserved better than that, better then me. That much is true but after thirty years of waiting for him, I can’t lose him now! “Carlos, I can’t let you marry her, she’s not right for you. She doesn’t have what we have, There’s no other couple out there like you and me. How can you just throw all that away!” I beg for him to understand, He needs to know that finally after all this time, that I’m ready to open up to him now.
But as much as I love him, we still have to wait, but I cannot let him go, not from my life not from my soul and certainly not from my heart.
But we still have to wait.
