A true story about an Ex Dunkin Donuts employee.
It was early that Friday night, when the biggest mistake of my life occurred. I was with a group of co-workers and friends heading toward the movie theater. When one of my friends told me that we should stop somewhere to eat. At that same time we were right around the corner from Dunkin Donuts where I was currently employed. So with a united decision, we stopped at Dunkin Donuts to get food before heading toward the movies. I wasn’t hungry, but to not feel left out I joined in to buy something to eat. All is well as we walk down toward the counter. Behind the counter is Luis, one of my co-workers that happens to be a close friend of mine. As we reach the counter he proceeds to take my order, “Hey, how can I help you?” I order first, “ Yea, umm, can I have a sausage egg and cheese on a plain bagel please?” Once I told him my order he quickly started to prepare my order. Returning with my finished product he asked, “ Anything else?” “Nope, that’ll be all for me!” I informed him. Luis proceeded to ringing me up. “That’ll be $0.95,” he told me. I looked puzzled, I knew that a sandwich doesn’t cost that little. “Huh, what you mean $0.95,” I asked him. “Don’t worry about it, that’s the price with your discount,” he informed me. Without giving it another thought, I gave him $1.00 and told him to keep the change.
Once he closed the drawer, his sister that was also a co-worker, but not so much my friend, came walking up to the counter and started yelling at Luis telling him that he didn’t charge me full price for the product that I received. Ignoring all the commotion I proceeded to sitting myself and started to eat the sandwich. She stopped yelling at him, and went to the back and made a phone call to the manager. While she was on the phone, Luis was helping the rest of my group. After completing the group’s products, his sister brought him the phone and he disappeared from the front of the store to the back room. Luis’ sister proceeded to charging the rest of the group the full price, without giving any of the employee’s their discounts. Every person in the group started to talk about the incident that just happened. I really didn’t care what the sister had to say; we really didn’t have a good relationship.
