Korins tower was built almost 1000 years ago to honour a great hero named Olibu who is a deceased fighter representing the North Quadrant and next to Goku, is its greatest fighter. King Kai stated that most of Earth’s heroic legends are based off of Olibu’s acts of heroism during his life. The tower itself is said to be so high that only the strongest and most determined of all warriors would be able to climb it and, at the top the most successful warriors would claim the prize of “special water” with properties rumoured to make you infinitely stronger. The tower had only one inhabitant and he had been given many names over the nearly 700 years he has been residing there, the most common name was Korin. Korin is an 800 year old anamorphic cat who is also a master of martial arts. Korin sat alone in his tower rather bored, nothing much has happened 700 years and many warriors tried and failed to climb the tower with only a couple succeeding, Korin wished more than anything that something interesting would happened soon. “It has been almost 40 years since the last warrior climb my tower” he thought to himself as he sat upon his cane and stared into the clear blue sky that surrounded his tower. “Are there no strong warriors anymore? Is this generation a wipe-out?” Korin was starting to get slightly impatient, the only thing that kept him sane were his senzu beans. The senzu bean was a magical bean that, when eaten would completely replenish the consumers’ health and energy and could keep a person full for 10 days. Korin was the only person in the world, nay the universe who knew how to grow them. So there he was one day tending to his beans and thinking about nothing much in particular, it was a regular day or so he though. Korin finished watering the plants and went inside to eat lunch when he heard a scuffling, he looked around him and looked out on the balcony but he could not discover the source of the scuffling and then it hit him, like a plant pot made of lead, he slowly turned his head towards the opening in the base of the tower, the scuffling appeared to be getting louder and louder, as Korin edged towards the opening a small black spiky-headed boy appeared but no sooner had he looked up at the furry-faced Korin than he collapsed on the floor. Korin looked as if he had fallen of his own tower and landed on a concrete block. “What?…….how did?……….when did?………….”This was about all Korin could muster before he gave up and collapsed in his chair. The boy on the floor opened his eyes slightly and said “f…..food”. “Hmmm….what? of yes..yes of course” Korin was suddenly all a fluster as he grabbed a small bag and withdrew a senzu bean and put it in the boys gaping mouth, once he swallowed it he boy leapt up and looked around him “What was THAT?! I feel amazing.” Korin simply stared at him still not quite believing that the boy was standing before him. “Oh, that was a senzu bean my dear fellow, it maybe small but it can replenish all of your stamina and energy. Now come and sit over here and tell me how you got up here”. The boy looked puzzled, he looked Korin in the eye and said, bluntly “You’re a cat.” “Yes, I am an anamorphic cat, I am almost 800 years old.” Korin had been expecting this, it is not everyday that a small child climbs a tower to find an elderly talking cat waiting for him. “Well.” Said the boy, “It’s nice to meet you and all but I can’t chat I was told there was a martial arts master up here.” With this statement Korin drew himself up to full height and said proudly. “That, my dear boy would be me, I am Korin the greatest martial arts masters in the land”. At this the boy simply looked at him “But you’re a cat.” Korin took great offense to this last comment. “I am Korin the legendary martial arts expert!!!!! And you should show some respect little boy.” The boy was close to laughing but seeing that this cat was deadly serious he took a seat on one of the barrels. “Well, my name is Goku and It took me three whole days to climb this tower, I was told there was a magical water here that would make me stronger?” Korin was shocked, ‘this boy? Climbing my tower in only 3 days?!’ he suspected that the boy would ask for the water so, he read Goku’s mind, after establishing that his mind contained no evil intentions he turned to Goku and said “Oh yes, there is the sacred water right here” Korin, produced out of nowhere a blue bottle and hooked it on the end of his cane. “It will grant you amazing power. And it’s all yours, IF you can get it.” With that Korin gave Goku a brief smile and ran off. Goku chased Korin around the tower for 2 weeks, Korin matching Goku’s after images with his own. When Korin called an end to the day on the last day of the second week, Goku asked if anyone else had caught the water?. Korin replied simply, “Oh yes one other has claimed the water, it was none other than your teacher Master Roshi, it took him three years” Korin smiled at the look on Goku’s face when he said this, “Come now, it’s time to eat isn’t it?”. Three more days passed before Goku finally outmanoeuvred Korin and take the bottle. When Goku drank from the bottle he said “But I don’t feel any different Korin.” Korin grinned a very wide and spectacular grin, “That is because my dear boy, that is only tap water, the training you went through in order to get that bottle from me has increased your power a thousand fold since you got here.” Goku look astonished, “wow really? So, do you think I can take on the Red Ribbon Army now?” Korin look at him directly and said “Oh most certainly, I think you can take on any enemy that confronts you.” Goku’s face lit up “That’s amazing, thank you so much for everything Master Korin.” And with that Goku sped off down the tower to face the world, Korin walked over to the opening in his tower and said to himself, for the first time in 300 years: “I think things are going to get much more interesting from now on, hahahaha.”
